Dr Tiffany Jenkins is a writer, broadcaster and author. Her last book Keeping Their Marbles: How Treasures of the Past Ended Up in Museums and Why They Should Stay There was published in 2016 to critical acclaim. She is currently writing The Rise and Fall of Private Life, for Picador. She is the host of the podcast Behind the Scenes at the Museum in which she talks to key figures about the big ideas rocking the cultural world, charting the trends and dissecting the controversies.
Tiffany wrote and presented the BBC Radio 4 series A Narrative History of Secrecy, which looked at how for centuries secrecy has been seen to serve a useful purpose, asking have we lost more than we have gained by abandoning our respect for the power and sanctity of secrecy? For Radio 4, she also wrote and presented the Contracts of Silence on the rights, wrongs, and reasons for the rise of Non Disclosure Agreements after high profile cases in business, politics, and celebrity life on both sides of the Atlantic.
She is an Honorary Fellow Art History at the University of Edinburgh, and a former visiting fellow at the London School of Economics in the Department of Law. She is also the author of Contesting Human Remains in Museum Collections: The Crisis of Cultural Authority, and editor of Political Culture: Soft Interventions and Nation Building.
